How a conversation with us usually goes

We don't send out a standard rate card. Every vessel and every owner is different, so we ask questions first and price second.

  1. Listen

Who owns her, how it's financed, how long they plan to keep her, and why they're thinking about changing managers. The last answer is usually the most useful one.

  2. Look at the ship

Class records, condition reports, crew list, running costs, trading pattern. A desk review tells us most of what we need before anyone steps on board.

  3. Put a number on it

Scope, fee and a first-year budget the owner can hold us to. If we don't think we can improve on the current arrangement, we'll say so.

  4. Take her over

A written takeover plan, named superintendents, no interrupted crew changes, and a frank review at 90 days, good news or bad.

From first meeting to steady running

  1. Weeks 1-2

    Getting to know her.

Questionnaire, document review, and a look on board if it helps. No charge for this stage.

  2. Weeks 3-4

    The proposal.

Scope, first-year budget and takeover plan on the table. Terms agreed before anyone commits.

  3. Weeks 5-8

    The takeover.

Procedures aligned, crew kept in place where possible, accounts and suppliers moved over. The ship keeps trading throughout.

  4. By day 90

    Business as usual.

Reporting rhythm in place, and an honest review against the numbers we promised.

Timing depends on survey positions and crew-change windows, so sometimes it runs faster, occasionally slower. The takeover plan is agreed in writing before signature either way.
