A passenger ferry under way in coastal water.

Ferries & passenger ships

With people on board, the safety case comes before anything else.

All vessel types

Where we put the emphasis

  • We open with our drill records and flag and Port State history, not with price.
  • A ferry earns against a timetable. We plan maintenance around the sailing schedule so the ship is never in dock when she should be carrying passengers.
  • Deck and hotel crew are one team in the passenger's eyes: the crew is the owner's brand.
  • On subsidised or public-service routes, every cent is audited. Our accounts stand up to that.

Questions we typically ask

  1. 01Which flag does she trade under, and when is the next Passenger Ship Safety Certificate renewal?
  2. 02How seasonal is the operation: does she lay up in winter, and who carries the off-season costs?
  3. 03What did the last few Port State and flag inspections find? Anything that keeps coming back?
  4. 04How is the crew split between deck, engine and hotel, and how hard is it to keep good people?
  5. 05Are any evacuation, lifesaving or accessibility upgrades coming due in the next survey cycle?
  6. 06How do you measure her: punctuality, complaints, cost per passenger?
